Sunway University has been ranked as the 7th most sustainable institution in Malaysia, according to the prestigious QS Sustainability Rankings 2025. In Asia, Sunway University was also ranked #97 out of 661 institutions according to the prestigious QS Sustainability Rankings 2025. Aiming to evaluate and showcase the social and environmental impact of universities as centres of education and research while also considering their role as major employers, we also ranked #480 Globally in Overall Performance, #433 Globally in Social Impact, #757 Globally in Governance and #569 Globally in Environmental Impact.

Our impressive achievement in the 2024 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings of
placing the 9th best university in Malaysia marks a significant milestone, as we climbed 26
spots from last year’s rankings, the largest leap among Malaysian universities. In addition,
we also achieved the top spot in Malaysia for the transportation category, improving from the #2 ranking last year.
