University of Melbourne

Established in 1853, the University of Melbourne is a public-spirited institution that makes distinctive contributions to society in research, teaching & knowledge transfer. Ranked as one of the best universities in Australia & internationally too, Melbourne’s teaching excellence has been rewarded two years in a row by grants from the Commonwealth Government’s Learning and Teaching Performance Fund for Australian universities that demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching and learning.

University of Sydney

This is the first university established in Australia as far back as 1850. The central campus is situated in the heart of Australia’s commercial capital – Sydney. More than 11,000 international students study in-campus from 130 different countries. The university too gives emphasis to research and in 2001 was the receiver of the highest research grants amongst all Australian Universities. It also received 20 of the 100 research fellowships offered by the Australian Research Council.

University of New South Wales

The University was established in 1949, and now has close to 40,000 students, including more than 7000 international students from over 130 different countries. Its ranked 46th worldwide on the 2010 QS World University Rankings, one of five Australian institutions to make the top 50. The University offers more than 300 undergraduate and 600 postgraduate programs, and is one of Australia’s leading research and teaching universities. UNSW is host to groundbreaking research in fields as diverse as quantum computing, molecular engineering, photovoltaic, robotics, biomedical research, financial markets and design and interactive cinema. It has strong collaborative links with industry and business.

University of Adelaide

Adelaide University is one of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious universities. Established in 1874, it is ranked by the Australian Government in the top group of Australian universities in terms of research, teaching and curriculum development. It is ranked as one of the most respected forward-looking, internationally focused institution with strong research portfolio.

Australian National University (ANU) - Canberra

This is set up on a 150 hectare site in Australia’s national capital – Canberra. Established in 1946 as the country’s first full time research university, it undertook to provide courses at undergraduate level in 1960 by amalgamation with the Canberra University College. It is truly an institution of advanced studies with emphasis on research led programs and is traditionally a forerunner for major portion of ARC Fellowships. Its Institute of Advanced Studies is a unique attraction for postgraduate studies.

University of Western Australia

Established in 1911, the University of Western Australia has an international reputation for excellence and enterprise and has been rated one of the best comprehensive universities in Australia. In addition, it is one of Australia’s leading research institutions and is a member of the prestigious “Go8” research universities. Prof . Barry Marshall, a member of the university staff is a Nobel Prize winner for Medicine.

University of Queensland

The University of Queensland (UQ) is one of Australia’s premier learning and research institutions. It is the largest and oldest university in Queensland. The University is a founding member of the national Group of Eight, “Go 8” an alliance of research-strong “sandstone” universities committed to ensuring that Australia has higher education institutions which are genuinely world class. On a variety of measures it is one of the top three or four research universities in the country.

Swinburne University

Swinburne has a strong reputation in Australia and overseas as a provider of career orientated courses and as a university with a commitment to research. The University maintains a strong technology base and important links with industry, complemented by a number of innovative specialist research centers. Swinburne undergraduate courses are mostly with vocational emphasis and direct industry application through Industry Based Learning (IBL) programs.

University of South Australia

A member of the “Australian Technology Network” – ATN which is a group of 5 young vibrant universities having the best collaborative relationships with industry both nationally & internationally”. It offers over 300 courses. University of South Australia consistently produces cutting edge graduates.

Flinders University

As a modern university with a friendly atmosphere, it is set up on 180 hectare campus close to the city of Adelaide. The university has a high quality teaching staff who delivers a wide variety of courses many of which are linked to work experience or practicum placements as part of their study programs. It has a high reputation for Health Science related degree programs with the Flinders hospital supporting such courses. It is the only government selected South Australian University for Aid scholarships.

University of Newcastle

This is a comprehensive international university in NSW situated about 2 hours’ drive from Sydney. It has 5 faculties and of the 22,000 students’ population, 10% are international students from more than 60 countries.  As one of Australia’s leading research institutions, it has significant research & teaching partnerships with many universities in Asia & Pacific. The university has its own Foundation program too.

University of Wollongong

Established in 1951, it is a University of international standing with an enviable record of achievement in teaching and research. It is also located in one of the most beautiful settings in Australia, just an hour’s drive south of Australia’s largest city, Sydney. With a total student enrolment of 14,000+ for undergraduate courses and 7,000 + for post graduate courses, the University of Wollongong has in 2007, for the second time been listed in The Times Higher Education Supplement Top 200 World University Rankings.

Carnegie Mellon University - Adelaide

Carnegie Mellon is an internationally recognized research university in USA. It is consistently named as a top-ranked university. In May, 2006, Heinz College began operations at a new location in Adelaide, Australia, which serves as the school’s Asia Pacific education base. CMU – Heinz School Australia, currently offers two master’s level degrees granted by Carnegie Mellon University – the Master of Science in Public Policy and Management and the Master of Science in Information Technology in Adelaide which receive dual recognition, since it meets the requirements for a Master’s degree in both the United States and Australia.

Deakin University

Deakin University is one of Australia’s largest universities with 4 campuses in Melbourne, Geelong and Warrnambool located in the State of Victoria. Its degrees are recognized by universities worldwide as well as Australian professional associations and has a reputation for excellent teaching and innovative course delivery .It has also won the prestigious University of the Year award twice for innovative use of technology in education and for partnerships with industry.

Bond University

Founded in 1989 it is Australia’s first private, not-for-profit university set up to provide an exclusive educational experience of the highest international standards, under the tutelage of the country’s leading academics. It’s set on a 50 hectare campus in Gold Coast, Queensland and offers state-of-the-art facilities. Bond University is part of the Australian Higher Education system and is recognized as an accredited Australian University. Bond University has distinctly global perspective, aspiring to a 50:50 ratio of Australian to International students. The International students are from 80 countries, evenly weighted so that no nationality dominate.

Murdoch University

Murdoch University in Western Australia is a dynamic, modern university with a national reputation for excellence in teaching, research and student satisfaction and has a student population of over 17,000 including 3000 international students. It is a leading research university in Australia ranking in the top 8 for research intensity and has achieved 5 star rating for graduate satisfaction for the last 13 years.

Macquarie University

Macquarie University in Sydney is a dynamic, flexible and an engaged university committed to excellence in research, teaching & global citizenship. It has a diverse community of approximately 33,000 students including 10,400 international students from over 114 countries. Located on 126 hectares of beautiful parkland, the campus is 30 minutes from the Sydney CBD situated within the high technology corridor of Sydney’s north-west enabling it to establish close relationship with some of the world’s most successful companies many of whom are located in the university’s research park. University of Tasmania

The University of Tasmania was established in 1890, making it the fourth oldest university in Australia – a true sand stone university. It is a medium sized university with approximately 23,000 students and well known for a range of distinctive programs and strong research capabilities. With over 100 bachelor degrees to choose from, including combined degrees, UTAS meets a wide range of traditional and specialized subject interests. The Australian Maritime College opened in 1980 offers undergraduate and post graduate degree courses covering the whole maritime sector through University of Tasmania. AMC has excellent articulation for selected programs at CINEC in Sri Lanka with enrolment handled by Edlocate.

Queensland University of Technology

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is a highly successful Australian university with an applied emphasis in courses and research. Based in Brisbane with a global outlook, it has 40,000 students, including 6000 from overseas at its 2 large campuses. It is well known for its close links with industry and relevant teaching and applied research. Industry representatives and professionals contribute to course development, adding a practical perspective to theoretical education.

Curtin University

Curtin University is a research intensive University based in Perth, Western Australia. Curtin University is the Western Australia’s largest and most multi-cultural university. The University has been actively expanding its global presence and currently has campuses in Sydney, Singapore, and Malaysia. The University comprises five main faculties with over 95 specialist’s centers.

Curtin University is a member of Australian Technology Network (ATN), and is active in research in a wide range of academic and practical fields.

RMIT University

RMIT is a global university of technology, design and enterprise based in Melbourne and is one of Australia’s original tertiary institutions. It offers 450+ programs to international students from vocational study through to research, plus a range of pre university pathways that provide flexible entry opportunities. RMIT is among the world’s top 100 universities in Art and Design, Architecture, Engineering (Civil and Structural; Electrical and Electronic; and Mechanical, Aeronautical and manufacturing); Computer Science and Business and Management Studies.

Charles Sturt University

CSU is an international education institution providing hands on work –relevant courses that prepare graduates for a range of employment opportunities. It’s a member of the Association of Common Wealth Universities. CSU has study centers in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Degrees are designed in collaboration with academic and industry professionals to ensure quality.

Charles Darwin University

Charles Darwin University (CDU) is located in the Northern Territory of Australia where Darwin is the capital city. CDU is a comprehensive, dual-sector University with nationally accredited courses in higher education at bachelors, masters, doctorate levels as well as in vocational education and training sector. CDU has five main campuses in Casuarina, Alice Springs, Katherine, Nhulunbuy and Palmerston. Edith Cowan University

Established in 1991, ECU it is a large multi-campus institution serving communities in Western Australia which has developed innovative and practical courses across a wide range of disciplines, established a vibrant research culture and attracted a growing range of quality research partners and researchers, many working at the cutting edge of their fields. It has 27,000 under graduate and post graduate students out of which 5,500 are international students from over 90 countries. More than 400 courses are offered through 4 faculties.
